User Rates
The Fauquier County Water and Sanitation Authority (the “Authority”) bills its water and sewer customers monthly. Customers are billed a Base Service Fee each month to pay for the fixed costs and overhead expenses we incur each month to provide you our services. In addition, customers are billed a Usage Fee each month to pay for the variable (per gallon) expenses we incur each for the volume of service you elect to use. The Authority’s water and sewer services are allocated and billed by the size of the meter that serves individual properties. Typically, residential customers use a 5/8” x 3/4” meter. Customers with meters that are larger than 5/8” x 3/4” will be billed at a commensurately larger rate. For the typically used 5/8” x 3/4” meter, the following fees apply.

Water Demand Charges
Water Demand Charges are flat fees which are added onto the monthly bill of any customer/ account whose usage exceeds twice the adopted average water consumption for the usage category associated with the size of the meter on the customer's main water connection Typically, residential customers use a 5/8” x 3/4” meter. The fee will be charged only for the month(s) in which the usage exceeds twice the average and will be assessed as shown in the table below.

Water Demand Charges for meter sizes greater than four inches (4”) are determined on an individual basis. The customer and the Authority will enter into a separate agreement, which establishes the applicable Water Demand Charges for the costs of the services provided to their particular account.

Bills for water and sewer services are mailed on the last day of the month and are due upon receipt. To ensure that you account is properly credited, always include the bill stub with your payment and write you Account # on your check or money order.
Payment must be received in our office by 4:30 p.m. on the 20th of the month or postmarked before the 20th of the month. If payment is not received by the 20th of the month or postmarked before the 20th of the month, a ten percent Late Charge is applied. An additional charge of $75.00 will be assessed for reinstating service that has been terminated due to payment delinquency.
Your payment may be mailed to the address shown on your bill, paid at our office at Vint Hill Farms in New Baltimore, or paid on-line at www.fcwsa.org (a $3.50 processing fee applies).
